Helping with Literacy

At Congleton High School we always promote the importance of students’ Literacy skills and have worked hard to ensure they achieve to the very best of their ability.  This is now more important than ever with statistics showing a decline in Literacy standards nationally.

We will be working hard to support your child’s Literacy development in all subjects and we would welcome any time you could devote to this at home.  To that end, we have produced a short guide entitled 'How to help improve your child's Literacy skills' which you can download by clicking the link on the right.

You can also download a copy of the booklet 'Understanding Progress in English: a guide for parents'.  This document was produced by the Department for Children, Schools & Families (now the Department for Education) to provide information for parents regarding the English curriculum and how parents can support their children's progress.
