CHS Students Secure Oxbridge Interviews

Following on from Congleton High School's Post 16 Oxbridge Tour last term, three of our Year 13 students have already secured interviews with the historic institutions to study their subjects of choice.

Aaron Barrett will be interviewed at Cambridge with a view to reading Architecture and Olivia Roberts is due to attend her interview at Oxford regarding her choice of Archaeology and Anthropology. Jack Tranter has applied to read Biochemistry at Oxford and has already undertaken his interview in early December, which he felt was very positive and went well.

Teaching staff work with students to help them to prepare for the interviews and ensure they are fully equipped to be able to give their best on the day. Mock interviews help the students prepare for every eventuality and ensure that they present themselves well during the interview and have an understanding of what the interviewers are looking for.

The Post 16 team are already taking applications from Year 11 students from Congleton and beyond, all hoping to become 2018-19's Year 12 CHS intake. Both academic and vocational courses have proved popular with all the Science subjects, History, Geography, Sociology, Psychology, Maths, Languages selected by many along with Childcare, Sport, Health and Social Care to name but a few. Students are reminded that the deadline for applications is FRIDAY DECEMBER 15TH.
