Autumn Term Charity Round-Up

We are always amazed and humbled by the generosity of our students and their families, the kindness of whom means that we are able to help make a difference to people all around the world. Here are some of the charity events our students have organised this term:

Fundraising activities for Year 7’s nominated charity, The Storehouse Foodbank at New Life Church, got off to a flying start this month with students collecting food items to go into Christmas hampers.  Our Year 7 student leaders are pictured (right) with food items ready to be collected by New Life Church.

Thank you to everyone who bought their Poppy from our Post 16 students this year. We were able to raise a wonderful £193.85 for The British Legion poppy collection. Miss Boulton also joined Head Girl, Chloe and Head Boy, David to represent the school and lay a wreath at the Remembrance Day Parade

We took part in the Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Appeal, which enables students and their families to share gifts with less privileged children around the world. Once again we were delighted with the response and were able to send 150 shoeboxes this year, which we hope will help to make Christmas a happier time for those who have very little. Thank you to all those who sent in donations.

Cake sales, competitions, amazing musical performances and merciless leg waxing all helped our fantastic students and staff raise a phenomenal £1237.71 for BBC Children in Need back in November.

Over lunch, students donated generously as they enjoyed fantastic music courtesy of their peers. The buckets really started to fill with donations though once the victims (ahem) volunteers assembled for the leg-waxing. Teachers and students alike had agreed to undergo the ordeal to help collect as much as possible for the cause. Once again, thank you to all those who took part and who donated.
