Our Community Links

Congleton High School does not operate in a vacuum, but is very much a part of the local community and we want all local people to feel part of our school, whether they have children at the school or not.

We provide facilities for local groups and organisations to hold meetings and events.  For example, we regularly host meetings of the Congleton Youth Forum and other organisations. We benefit enormously from the outstanding support given by Churches in Congleton and, in particular, New Life Church, and have two 'Chaplains' who regularly lead assemblies and other activities.

Our Community Sports Centre is home to a number of sports clubs, including Congleton Rovers FC, Vale Juniors FC and South Cheshire Hockey Club.  Our sports facilities are used every week by a large number of local people to pursue team and individual sports.

Through our Specialist Engineering status we have worked hard to develop excellent partnerships with local companies and engineering organisations such as Siemens and Bentley Motors and we benefit from their support and expertise in a variety of engineering and science projects every year.  We are continually building on this firm base and extending our links for the benefit of students.  We are proud that we are now a centre of excellence for engineering skills and activities in the whole community.  In this way not only do our own students gain additional vocational skills and experience but we are also able to support our partner schools, adult learners and other community groups through our specialist resources and facilities.
