Examination Support and Information

Parents and Carers are often concerned about how they can best help their child during the stressful examination season and we have put together some advice 'Help your child beat exam stress', which you can download on the right. We encourage students to speak with parents, form tutors or Guidance Team Leaders if they have any concerns regarding their examinations and there are also many useful sources of advice and information online, including from organisations such as AQA and ChildLIne.

Each year we also hold Information Evenings for 11 Students and their Parents/ Carers to give specific information about revising for GCSEs in general and about GCSE English and Maths revision in particular. We also run a yearly GCSE Information Evening for Year 10 Parents and Carers. You can see these presentations on the Parent/Carers' Information Evenings page and also download the documents shared on the night using the links on the right.

In order to help students to feel fully prepared, many of our curriculum teams offer coursework catch up and revision sessions after school and at weekends. See the downloads on the right for more details of individual subjects.

Finally, the Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ) produces guidance and information for candidates on behalf of the AQA, City & Guilds, CCEA, Edexcel, OCR and WJEC examination boards. These relate to things like candidates sitting written examinations, doing coursework and taking on-screen tests. You can access these from the links below:

Please also see the downloadable document to the right regarding the review of centre assessed coursework marks.

You can help your child by making sure they understand the regulations and have all the necessary equipment they need for each examination.
