School Self-Evaluation

CHS Review and Development Cycle

At Congleton High School we follow an annual cycle of reviewing our existing practice and planning future developments.

In the Autumn Term, all Teams within the school contribute to a Self-Review Analysis, which reviews the performance of the school against the Ofsted criteria for:

  • Leadership and Management
  • Progress and attainment
  • Teaching and Learning
  • Behaviour and Safety

The results are collated and published in a Self-Review Summary document.

In the Spring term, the school invites a panel of external education specialists to carry out a Quality Assurance Check, to confirm that the school has correctly evaluated its strengths and weaknesses.

In the Summer Term, we start work on our School Development Plan – this outlines the areas that we will focus on in the next academic year.  Our plans follow a three year cycle for major developments – this allows for implementation, development and consolidation before moving on to a new focus.
