September 2020 Transition

We look forward to welcoming our new Year 7 students in to school on Wednesday 2nd September 2020.

The current Coronavirus restrictions have unfortunately meant that we have been unable to invite you in to school for our normal Transition events. However, we have been lucky enough to spend time with the majority of you in previous years in our many primary school activities, so most of you will already be familiar with the school and many of the teaching and support teams. We have put together a short School Tour video to remind you of the main areas of our Box Lane site. Click here to watch this.

Our 2020-21 Year 7 Student Guidance and Form Tutor team, the people who will be responsible for your care, welfare and academic progress throughout your time at CHS, are:

Miss C Blundred

Year 7 Guidance
Team Leader

I am looking forward to welcoming you all to Congleton High School. I hope you will all be very happy here with us and I will do my best to help and support you throughout your time at our school.
Having taught Music at CHS for 20 years, I have a pretty good idea of how fantastic the school is. I hope that you are excited about joining us and making the most of the wonderful opportunities that will be available to you. I know things may be a little strange to begin with and there will be lots of challenges that you will have to face but, having been a Head of Year for many years, I hope you will come to me with any problems or concerns.
I hope you have a lovely summer and I will see you in September.

Year 7 Form Tutor

Hello Year 6, I hope you are all feeling well, my name is Miss Hark and I teach Geography. I am really looking forward to meeting you all come September and thought I should let you all know a little more about me. Aside from teaching Geography, I enjoy taking my dog, Miley the Doberman, on long walks, I also love baking (my ‘signature bake’ being a lemon drizzle cake), I do try to go to the gym at least three times a week and I am still a keen ballet and ballroom dancer. If I am not doing any of the above, then you will probably find me trying my best to play rugby with my two nephews.
I cannot wait to meet you all!

Year 7 Form Tutor Hi Year 6, I am Dr Jones and I teach Science. I am very much looking forward to meeting you all in September. I love to teach Science because it is all around us, from the galaxies above to the volcanoes rumbling on the sea bed. In my spare time, I like to walk across the Cheshire countryside with my two dogs. I also regularly volunteer for my local hospice and take part in fundraisers. Over the years I have completed a sky dive, abseil, walk across fire, half marathon and trekked across the Sahara desert to help raise money for them.

Miss M Rios de Penny
