Sixth Form Open Evening

I am delighted to be able to welcome Year 11 students and their parents and carers to our online extended Sixth Form Open Evening. We have so much to share with you about our successful, supportive, and nurturing Sixth Form community. Obviously this is no replacement for actually being able to meet with you all, talk about the courses that we have on offer and allow you to experience for yourselves why our Sixth Form is such a great place to continue your academic pathway. However, we hope this will give you all the information you need to make the decision to join us and continue to thrive in your learning journey, to secure the best qualifications you can with our targeted guidance and support. Our priority is to help you to make the next steps into the big, wide world that follows Sixth Form study.

We have tried to structure this page to give you easy access to all the relevant information. If you cannot find an answer to any questions you have, I (Miss Boulton) oversee our Year 12 Application process and will be able to help. However, if you have a specific question regarding SEND or a particular subject, these would be better directed to the appropriate team and you can contact them via our Staff Contacts page or by calling the school office on 01260 730123. These Open Evening pages will stay live until the end of December, so please feel free to come back as many times as you need.

You could start your 'virtual tour' with our short videos below that introduce you to the Sixth Form and our various subject areas. (available soon) Following these, there are links to our main Sixth Form pages, information on the university courses that our alumni have progressed on to and also a link to our SEND provision pages.

In the menu to the left, you can access our Sixth Form prospectus, full course details, bursary information and our application form. We have also included answers to some of the most Frequently Asked Questions concerning transition to Sixth Form.

Please use all these resources, have a look around our Sixth Form and main school website pages and speak to any family, friends or neighbours who are currently Sixth Form students or their parents/carers. All this should help you to build a sound understanding of why our students are happy, feel they receive the guidance they need and are able to take their chosen pathway to future destinations as a result of achieving great success.

Once you have made your decision, please apply for a September 2021 Year 12 place by completing and returning your application form by 15th December 2020. Applications received after 15th December will be accepted but we begin constructing the timetable shortly after this date and base our option blocks around the choices made by those who meet the deadline. For those who apply after, the subject choices are still available but may be limited by the option blocks we put together.

We do hope that you decide to join us and look forward to welcoming you into the Congleton High School Sixth Form community next year.

Miss Julie Boulton
Assistant Headteacher
