Congleton High School has a proven track record of academic excellence and we are extremely proud of our students and their successes, both in school and beyond.

In August 2017 our students once again saw great GCSE and A Level results.  At GCSE, over 300 Level 7+, A*/A and Distinction*/ Distinction grades were achieved, with 54% of students celebrating at least one A*/A.  83% of students passed English and 78%passed maths, with 74% of students gaining a standard pass grade or above in both subjects. The school's results for English were an impressive fifteen percentage points above the national average and even higher for maths at eighteen percentage points, which also outperformed the Cheshire East average of 74%.

Our Post 16 students, whether studying  academic or vocational pathways (or a combination of both) once again achieved another set of fantastic results, with a fantastic pass rate of 98%. 21% of all grades awarded were at A*/A or Distinction*/Distinction and 41% of grades were achieved at A*-B.  Many students gained places at the top Russell Group universities to continue their education, whilst others have gone on to successfully gain apprenticeships and other work opportunities.

Our team of outstanding teachers is committed to delivering consistently great lessons; they have high expectations of what students can achieve and aim to provide the experiences, knowledge and skills that will challenge each student, not only to realise their potential but to enjoy the process of learning and to live life to the full.

  • "Our motto is 'Achieving Success Together' and all around school you will see staff delivering really great lessons or going the extra mile to help students with revision sessions or extra coaching. You will also see students who have high aspirations and are working incredibly hard because they want to achieve their very best." Mr Barlow - Head of School
