Urgent Announcement – School will be closed to students in Years 7, 8 and 9 on Wednesday 15th and Thursday 16th March

As parents and carers will be aware, we have tried hard to keep the school open during the recent teachers’ industrial action, and have been able to open to all year groups on both previous strike days.

However, we now face a number of additional teaching staff absences due to illness, which, when combined with those staff taking industrial action, means that we cannot safely open the school to all year groups.

It is therefore with regret that we will be closing the school to students in Years 7, 8, and 9 on Wednesday 15th and Thursday 16th March.

We will be allowing anyone with an EHCP in these year groups to attend, but provision will be different to a normal day. We will be contacting parents and carers of those with an EHCP separately to discuss this.

Where staff are able, they will be providing work via satchel:one for the students not in school.

Students in Years 10, 11, 12 and 13 should attend school as normal on these days.

We apologise for the late notice of this change, which as noted above is due to additional unplanned staff sickness absence.

If you have any particular concerns, please contact our headteacher, Mr Warren, who will do his best to support you.
