Exam and Revision/Study Skills Information
Exams can be stressful for students in any year and we understand that GCSEs are a particularly stressful time for most. We aim to equip students with a range of skills, support and information to reduce their stress levels and ensure that they can do their best in exams.
Mr Tyrrell has prepared a presentation for students in Years 7-10 and 12, taking their Serious About Success exams in June and you can watch the video below (click on the image).
We encourage students to speak with parents/carers, form tutors or Guidance Team Leaders if they have any concerns regarding their examinations and there are also many useful sources of advice and information online, including from organisations such as AQA and ChildLIne.
Each year we also hold Information Evenings for Year 11 students and their parents/carers to give specific information about revising for GCSEs in general and about GCSE English and Maths revision in particular. We also run a yearly GCSE Information Evening for Year 10 parents and carers. You can see these presentations on the Parent/Carer Information Evenings page.
In order to help students to feel fully prepared, many of our curriculum teams offer coursework catch up and revision sessions after school and at weekends. Check the Extracurricular Enrichment documents here for information on specific curriculum support and revision sessions.
The website examapp.co.uk, developed by University of Oxford, is also a useful source of information, advice and past papers.
