Oscar to Compete in National Competitions

Our Year 8 Swimming superstar, Oscar dV, took a well earned break over the half-term after competing in three separate events with a hope to qualify for Swim England. All English National qualifiers are selected based on times achieved in level one, 50m pool galas, with only the fastest twenty two selected in each of the seventeen events.

Across the events held at Sheffield, Coventry and Cardiff, Oscar aimed to achieve his best times and succeeded in a securing a total of 23 medals, all three top boys' trophies and also became the West Midlands Regional Champion in six events.

The qualifying window for Swim England is now closed and it looks like Oscar will have qualified for six national events in total:

• 400m Individual Medley 
• 200m Individual Medley
• 200m Butterfly
• 100m Butterfly 
• 50m Butterfly 
• 200m Backstroke

Oscar is now beginning his preparation for the Nationals, which take place in Sheffield this August.
