We held our annual Key Stage 3 Art Exhibition on Thursday 13th March and we were delighted to be able to showcase the talent and artistic skills of our artists in Year 7, 8 and 9. The students had been given the brief of creating an artistic representation of their idea of the perfect destination for a hot air balloon ride and they definitely did not disappoint.

Our exhibition was open to all CHS families and our guests were treated to a wide variety of interpretations of the brief, from pen and ink drawings, paintings and collages, to papier mache models and 3D printed artwork.

CHS Headteacher, Ms Thurland, was given the very difficult task of choosing winners in each year group from the hundreds of artworks. After much deliberation it was agreed that the following students won in their categories:

Year 7

1st Charlie H

2nd Freya B

3rd Victoria B

Year 8

1st Lara AG

2nd Lilly B

3rd Alicia D

Year 9

1st Olivia J

2nd Holly W

3rd Megan G

As there were so many fantastic entries, Highly Commended certificates and prizes were also awarded in each category.

The overall winner of the 2024 Key Stage 3 Art Exhibition was Year 9 student, Millie D, whose wonderful painting of a hot air balloon floating across a lake can be seen above.

Congratulations and well done to the 2024 winners and to all the students who took part. Also, we would like to thank all the families and members of our school community and wider community who were able to join us at the event. We look forward to welcoming you again next year.

Below are some photos of the event and a few examples of the wonderful artworks created by our Key Stage 3 students.
