Thirty-six of our Year 13 students visited The National Apprenticeship Show in Liverpool in November.
As part of our ongoing Careers programme, our Year 8 students took part in a Speed Networking event in November.
We held our annual Year 11 Mock Interview event in October and students were able to have an authentic interview experience with one of twenty five employers and other volunteer professionals.

Mia F, Year 8, enjoyed the Cheshire Fire Service RESPECT Course so much last term that she has joined the Fire Cadets and plans to pursue a career in the Service!
In June, our Year 8 students enjoyed a talk by a team from The University of Liverpool about the life and career benefits of learning languages.
National Careers Week is 6th to 11th March and we have a series of events running each lunchtime enabling students in all years to access information and advice from employers and our own careers experts.
Year 12 students were able to get Post 16 ideas and inspiration at the UCAS Discovery Convention in February.
Teaching Assistant, Miss King, won Education and Training Apprentice of the Year at the Cheshire College - South & West Apprenticeship Awards 2023 in February.
The Bentley Early Careers team visited in February to share information on the latest Apprenticeships available with the company.
Digital and Technical Apprenticeship provider, Apprentify, joined us in February to discuss IT apprenticeship opportunities with students.
In February, our Careers team ran a 'Guess the Employer' event for our Year 7 students, challenging them to ask questions to establish each guest's job role and company.

We welcomed a group of Scientists in to school in January to enlighted students as to the vast range of careers opened up by studying the Sciences.
Natalie Carmen of the Crown Prosecution Service met with our Sixth Form A Level Law students in November to talk about her work as a Criminal Prosecutor.
A visit to Maths in Action helped our Sixth Form Mathematicians see how Maths can be used in many different ways, from fighting disease to video games and magic!

To round off British Science Week 2022 at CHS, we welcomed a group of speakers from the world of Science in to school in March to inform and inspire our Year 9 students about the many careers opened up by studying Science.
In March, we held our biggest ever Careers Fair, with over forty exhibiting employers, training and apprenticeship providers and educators arriving on the day to help our young people start to plan their futures.
Over 40 training/education providers and employers from a wide range of sectors will be taking part in the CHS Careers Fair on Thursday 17th March, helping our students to plan their future careers.
Posters are appearing on doors all across school as part of our prep work for National Careers Week, which will run from 7-12th March 2022.

In January, we were delighted to welcome Higher Horizons+, Macclesfield College and Staffordshire University, in to school to join us for an extended assembly to inform our Year 9 students about some of the Post 16 and Post 18 pathways available to them.
