Our Careers team organised another great opportunity for students in February. Recruitment executives, Lauren and Will, from Digital and Technical Apprenticeship provider, Apprentify, ran drop-in sessions throughout the morning in our Sixth Form Centre, discussing apprenticeship options.

Apprenticeships are becoming increasingly popular with students, who are keen to continue their education and training but concerned about the growing costs of attending university. Young people undertaking apprenticeships are given the opportunity to continue on their educational path while also being in the professional environment and gaining valuable experience in the workplace. In addition, they have the opportunity to earn whilst they learn amongst industry professionals.

IT itself continues to be a rapidly growing industry and one definitely worth investigating. According to data for the UK's Digital Economy Council, the number of advertised tech roles is 42% higher than pre-pandemic levels and tech and IT-related vacancies make up 13% of all UK job vacancies.

Students were able to hear about the range of apprenticeships offered by the Apprentify and also find out more about the basics of undertaking an apprenticeship.

Thank you to Lauren and Will for taking the time to work with our students.
